Let me start this off by saying I’ll never be a beauty and makeup expert. My thing is fashion and I’ll continue to stick to what I’m good at! So if you’re like me when it comes to skincare, you probably prefer to keep your beauty regime simple by using reliable products that you love and trust.
I don’t know about you, but every day I’m bombarded on Instagram by beauty bloggers talking about [what seems like thousands of] different skincare products they use every day and night. Honestly, who has time to sit there and jade roll their face for five minutes every morning before they start the day? I for sure don’t. With all of these influencers pushing different products in your face, it’s hard to tell which are actually worth spending the money adding to your daily skincare routine because it can get pretty expensive. Well, today I’m going to make it easy for you and give my full and honest review of the first under-eye cream I’ve used in my life…like ever.
Why Eye Cream?
When I turned 25 last February, I figured it was right about time to begin taking preventative skincare more seriously. I’m blessed to say I’ve always had pretty good skin, but unfortunately with age this will change. I’ll soon be dealing with fine lines and dark under-eyes like everyone else which absolutely sucks. It’s inevitable, so better to start earlier than later, right?
I began the search for an eye cream that guaranteed results and was also good for women my age who still have youthful skin. This was overwhelming because like I said, I’m no expert and everyone is talking about everything on social media nowadays. When VIIcode reached out and asked if I wanted to try out their T2 Oxygen Eye Cream, I was absolutely thrilled! I then did some research on the company and was extremely impressed with their story. Let me give you a quick recap.
The Facts:
VIIcode is a skincare company that has been around since 1945, but the history can be traced back 256 years ago to Dr. Byrne Victor. He was famous for creating a mysterious formula that healed his genetic skin disease. In 1800, Byrne brought the “Ageless Mystery” to Queen Josephine, and promised to keep the formula a secret until her death. In 1945, the Victors established themselves as a luxury club for customized skincare in New York and only accepted members of high social status. Fast-forward to today, VIIcode sells products across the country through their website and on Amazon! They still continue to produce the products in New York, which was a HUGE selling point for me. If you guys have been following me for a while, you know I love supporting local small businesses, so you could imagine my excitement when I found this out!
My Review:
I was given their newest under-eye formula to try out, called the T2 Oxygen Eye Cream O3.0. I applied it twice a day for a little over five weeks. It’s not greasy whatsoever, and the smallest [I’m talking teeny tiny drop] goes a long way! It comes with this little plastic “activation strip” to scrape away any dead skin cells before applying the cream, which I thought was a nice added bonus. This allows the ingredients to absorb deep into the skin and work it’s magic! After using the eye cream for one week, I started to feel “prettier” when I woke up in the morning. My eyes were noticeably less tired-looking and dehydrated. The T2 Oxygen Eye Cream activates the skin’s natural repair system and uses ingredients such as jojoba seed oil and hyaluronic acid to prevent moisture loss. In all honesty, I like the eye cream for it’s super-hydrating properties, but haven’t seen a noticeable improvement in the darkness under my eyes. I don’t have terrible dark circles to begin with, so it’s possible I just can’t see the difference yet. I’ll keep you guys posted. I also can’t comment on the improvement wrinkles/fine lines [because I don’t have them yet…thankfully] but hoping this product will prevent them for as long as possible!
The Catch (because there always is…)
Beauty does come with a price and yeah…the price tag’s a bit expensive for this eye cream. The 5mL small size is sold for $99, and the 15mL large size is $284. On the plus side, compared to similar products currently in the market it’s around the same price and it does last a while.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed my experience using the VII Code T2 Oxygen Eye Cream O3.0, and could not have asked for a worthier brand to help me begin my journey to better skin! I can’t wait to see my results continue to improve even more over the next few weeks!
If you guys are interested in trying a VIIcode product out for yourself, the company has so graciously created a coupon code for all of you! FYI: Along with eye creams, they also offer eye masks for anti-aging and hydration. Please use the code Michelle for $5 off site-wide on www.viicode.com [Offer ending 11/30/18]
Enjoy guys!
